Key Qualifications:
What you need to bring:
- Proven expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native technologies.
- Strong knowledge of FinOps principles and cloud financial management, including cost optimization, forecasting, and governance.
- Experience with application development frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java) and modern software engineering practices.
- Familiarity with cloud monitoring and cost management tools, such as AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, or third-party FinOps platforms (e.g., CloudHealth, Apptio).
- Proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Leadership & Management:
- Demonstrated success in leading engineering teams, managing priorities, and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, finance, and business teams.
- Exceptional ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and align engineering efforts with business goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience implementing FinOps practices within large-scale cloud environments.
- Knowledge of data analytics, machine learning, or AI tools for advanced cost optimization and forecasting.
- Certification in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and APIs for seamless integration of FinOps applications.
- Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors designing, developing, and sustaining products, enhancements, and updates.
- Plans and delivers features for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated, and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
- Manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders, setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs.
- Proactively identifies process improvement and cost reduction opportunities and achieves operational excellence through metrics and continuous learning.
- Provides people management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting, and monitoring of performance goals, coaching, and career development.
- Builds a best-in-class engineering team that delivers excellent results.
- Advanced project management skills, including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field.
- Typically, 7-10 years’ experience, including 0-2 years of people management experience.
