Job Description
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain core infrastructure components, including APIs, microservices, databases, and deployment pipeline, using High level programming languages like Python or Go
- Deliver improvements to source code management, deployment, operations, maintenance, cost control, security, monitoring, and audit tools and processes.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD tools and processes to support development, QA, deployment and monitoring of deployed systems.
- Manage a service critical codebase with version control using Git including Gitlab, or Github
- Contribute to the Open Source Community of key OSC projects leveraged by Siemens, developing features that are key to Siemens requirements, understanding and debugging OSS code when appropriate to honor SLAs.
- Contribute to Operations strategy planning, design, implementation, and maintenance activities.
- Be part of maintaining a 24x7, global, highly available SaaS environment according to internal and external service levels agreements.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and fellow developers to translate business requirements into scalable and reliable technical solutions.
- Implement best practices for code quality, testing, security, and performance optimization.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the platform, providing timely resolutions and ensuring high availability.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continuously enhance our platform's capabilities.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Advanced experience as a software developer, with a strong focus on backend development and infrastructure.
- Advanced Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go, along with expertise in modern web frameworks.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices architectures, cloud computing, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Advanced experience with relational and NoSQL databases, as well as message queues and caching mechanisms.
- Advanced experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform).
- Advanced understanding of Cloud APIs and Cloud technologies specifically AWS & Azure
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and propose effective solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a keen attention to detail and a passion for continuous learning.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- Advanced degree or certifications in relevant fields.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts and tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack).
- Exposure to cybersecurity principles and best practices.
