Job Description
You'll Get To:
- Support and build the next generation of BlackLine platform services
- Develop and enhance automation pipelines in Jenkins and similar job execution platforms
- Provision and manage Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure and services
- Analyze observability data from New Relic to troubleshoot and optimize applications, including using logs, metrics, APM, and traces
- Ensure operational uptime and reliability of mission critical product and platform services
- Apply strong problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques to provide solutions and restore impacted services
- Make recommendations for process improvements and streamline inefficiencies
- Collaborate with a skilled team of engineers, and provide courteous and helpful support to teams of internal customers
What You'll Bring:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, equivalent diploma and/or certifications, or combination of relevant job experience
- 3-5 Years of related job experience in software engineering, devops, or similar role
- Intermediate knowledge of at least one of the following programming languages: C#, Java, TypeScript, Rust, Python, Go, Ruby, JavaScript
- Understanding of software promotion standards and proper testing conventions (e.g. quality gates)
- Utilize a source control management system (SCM) such as Git or Mercurial
- Comprehension of proper SDLC, best practices, and methodologies
- Knowledge of SQL databases and ability to perform TSQL queries effectively
- Grasp of Scrum process, especially as relates to working on an Agile team
- Effectively utilize a Jira ticket system to plan and track tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
We’re Even More Excited If You Have:
- 3-5 Years Experience with Kubernetes/container-based development, application lifecycle, and/or operations
- 3-5 Years Experience or related certification for major Cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure)
- 1+ Years Experience with observability platforms like New Relic, Elasticsearch, or Splunk
- 1+ Years Experience with Terraform, OpenTofu, Cloud Formation, or other IaC tools
- Ability to utilize Docker effectively, including usage workflows, Dockerfile building and optimization techniques, and Docker Compose pattern
- Experience with serverless development techniques (e.g. AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Knative)
- Knowledge of NOSQL style databases, usage patterns, and architecture (such as Redis or MongoDB)
- Conceptual understanding of Event-Driven Architecture and event bus products (such as Kafka or Pub/Sub)
