Commvault Administrator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commvault Administrator to manage and maintain our data backup and recovery infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Commvault technology, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to optimize backup solutions to meet organizational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Backup and Recovery Operations
o Manage, configure, and maintain the Commvault backup infrastructure.
o Perform regular backup and recovery operations to ensure data availability and integrity.
o Monitor backup jobs and resolve any failures or issues promptly.
2. Infrastructure Management
o Configure and manage CommServe, MediaAgents, and Client components.
o Set up and manage storage policies, schedules, and deduplication settings.
o Integrate and manage cloud backup solutions with platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
3. Troubleshooting and Support
o Diagnose and resolve backup/restore failures and system performance issues.
o Work closely with vendors to resolve software and hardware-related issues.
o Provide second and third-level support for backup-related incidents.
4. Performance Optimization
o Optimize backup and restore performance by fine-tuning configurations.
o Analyze system performance metrics and implement improvements where necessary.
5. Reporting and Documentation
o Generate regular reports on backup status, storage utilization, and performance.
o Maintain and update documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
6. Compliance and Security
o Ensure data protection policies align with compliance standards and regulations.
o Implement and manage encryption and secure data transfer mechanisms.
7. Team Collaboration
o Train and mentor junior team members in Commvault operations.
o Collaborate with other IT teams to align backup strategies with organizational goals.
