Job Description
In this role, you will:
-
Carry out tasks to support the HSBC Storage Automation platform and onward integrations to other automation platforms
-
Engage, triage, troubleshoot, diagnose and as needed resolve issues with the automation platform, using observability tools, logs/metrics and simulated users/queries to measure end-user performance and service quality
-
Develop fixes and improvements to improve availability and increase performance of the automation platform
-
Assist and guide other teams in diagnosing and fixing issues, with other automation platforms, the automation playbooks/workflows or the storage device/API endpoint itself.

Raise cases and work with vendors as needed.

Develop Cloud based infrastructure platforms and deliver supporting infrastructure, platforms etc. “as a Service” by working with Business & other DevOps teams

Determine the strategic direction and execute in each of the Technology areas under Enterprise Services responsibility

Risk and Cost Management
-
Ensure Service Quality Targets are met for offered platform services
-
Business stakeholder management to define product roadmaps and market available capabilities
-
Write development code, understand a DevOps Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery pipeline, and build automated test scripts (for infrastructure products and upgrades), and maintain automation interfaces between systems.
Qualifications - Internal
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

Expertise in Server operating systems – Linux RHEL/Windows/VmWare

Expertise in all aspects of Storage - Dell PowerMax/SRDF, Pure FlashArray, HPE Primera/Alletra, Cisco MDS/Brocade, NetApp FAS file service, CommVault, Netbackup, Data Domain, Dell ECS, Storage Grid
-
End to end server mapping from server to storage
-
Expertise providing technical support in a large Enterprise environment
-
Experience in using Python API Development (FastAPI), Ansible/AAP, Docker, Kubernetes, Shell Scripting to be able to implement storage automation and as-a-service offerings.

Expérience of troubleshooting in Infrastructure automation Environments.
-
Capable of product testing and qualification.
-
Well experienced in server and storage remediation
-
Past working experience in a storage / scripting / automation role
-
A deep technical understanding of Cloud and Storage Infrastructure
-
Infrastructure as Code and automation/orchestration technologies, such as Puppet / Chef / Ansible Tower / Jenkins, GitHub, PowerShell
-
Experience of continuous integration / continuous delivery software engineering approaches
-
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. server engineering in a similar function is desirable but not essential
-
Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. IT in finance, Storage is desirable but not essential
-
Experience in Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is desirable but not essential
-
Role relevant qualifications, i.e. EMC, Pure, cloud related is desirable but not essential
-
