Job Description
Key Accountabilities
- As a DevOps Engineer, responsibilities include:
- Work with technical leads and developers to understand applications architecture and business logic and contribute to deployment and integration strategies.
- Environment Management functions (building new environments / refreshing existing ones).
- Providing operational stability for the key environments.
- Diagnosis and resolution of environment defects found during SIT and UAT test phases.
- Engineering / DevOps / Project Work, e.g., optimization of DevOps delivery (CI/CD).
- Contribute to the design of lightning-fast DevOps processes, including automated build, release, deployments, and monitoring, to reduce the overall time to market of various new and existing software components.
- Contributing to the delivery of complex projects in collaboration with global teams, to develop new or enhance existing systems.
- Strong appreciation of development and DevOps best practices.
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- More than 8 years of experience as senior DevOps SME who can drive cultural change, educate on advanced DevOps, and enable adoption of Devops tools and practices
- Strong CICD experience with Jenkins
- Perform highly technical work on CI/CD adoption to the established CI/CD pipeline.
- Excellent experience in managing environments and DevOps tools.
- Excellent hands-on experience on GitLab, Python, Ansible, Gradle, Conda, Docker, Kubernetes, TeamCity, Jenkins, containerization. Development solutions are build on technologies like Rust, .Net, Java, TypeScript
- Introduce and implement many of the DORA capabilities, with quality gates in place to ensure compliance.
- Scripting Languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash), Git/GitLab, Deployment Labs on Linux platform
- Educate teams on modern DORA capabilities, both practices and technology to help them improve their productivity.
- Experience in building sophisticated end-to-end pipeline runs on GitLab and enables teams to go from business idea to production in one day.
- Help teams onboard to standard CI/CD pipeline.
- Automate everything that can be automated with respect to CI/CD.
- Rich experience in addressing complexities involving legacy codebases, legacy development practices, technical debt, migration timelines, and cultural transformation.
- Ability to drive DevOps transformations in respective development teams.
- Support development teams adoption of devops ecosystem as per established standards, and CICD pipeline strategy
- Good collaboration skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Open to work in UK Shift (10 Am to 9 Pm IST with 8 hours of productive work)
Education Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field or equivalent professional qualification
