Job Description

  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated build, deployment, and release processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Git, GitLab, Jenkins, Bitbucket, or equivalent DevOps tooling.
  • Good understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift container platforms.
  • Experience with deployment automation, environment management, and release support activities.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems, scripting, and system administration.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Barclays Cloud Platform (BCP).
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and configuration management practices.
  • Experience working with application servers, web servers, and middleware technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments with tools such as Jira.
  • Understanding of monitoring, logging, and operational support processes.
  • Effective stakeholder management and collaboration skills across development, testing, and infrastructure teams.
  • Total experience of 4+ years

 

Additional relevant skills given below are highly valued:

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
  • Exposure to AWS Cloud Services, container security, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Knowledge of observability and monitoring platforms such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, or ELK.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps practices, vulnerability management, and security controls.
  • Experience with workflow engines, business rules engines, or enterprise integration platforms.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes administration and platform automation.
  • Exposure to messaging platforms such as Kafka or MQ.
  • Knowledge of database technologies including Oracle, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL platforms.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
