Lead Engineer - Ansible AWX Developer

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks and AWX workflows to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and architect automation solutions.
• Implement best practices for code versioning, testing, and deployment within Ansible/AWX environments.
• Troubleshoot and debug automation scripts to ensure smooth operation and reliability.
• Continuously optimize and improve existing automation workflows for efficiency and scalability.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to Ansible/AWX automation.
• AWX/Ansible Tower Administration: installation, configuration, and maintenance of AWX/Ansible Tower infrastructure.
• Support the deployment of Ansible automation on IT Infrastructure (Compute and DB) environments.
• Develop, test, and maintain Ansible playbooks and Python scripts to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Proficiency in using IaC: YAML. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and IDE: Visual Studio.
• Experience in Azure DevOps and understanding of observability tools.
• Expert knowledge and understanding of technologies related to infrastructure engineering.

Qualifications

Key Skills / Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Automation Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Ansible and AWX, including playbook development, inventory management, and job scheduling.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts and tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems administration and networking principles.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Engineer, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
