Job Description
- Develop QA Strategy: In conjunction with other functional heads and senior engineers, develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy aligned with the company's values and the team's product and engineering goals.
- Team Development: Responsible for growing our QA capabilities to support the wider Oasys LS-DYNA engineering team, which currently has over 60 developers.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing QA team (covering manual and automated tests) able to support both desktop and web-based solutions.
- Test Automation Oversight: Guide the design, development, and maintenance of robust automated test frameworks for APIs, front-end, back-end, desktop and mobile[SV3] [DC4] platforms.
- Test Management Platform: Evaluate, introduce, and embed a dedicated test management platform to support structured test planning, traceability, and reporting across the QA team.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, DevOps, Technical Specialist, Delivery and Development teams to ensure early and continuous quality involvement across the SDLC.
- Cross-regional Collaboration: Work effectively with colleagues spread across different regions, including Europe, Asia, and North America.
- Release Quality Management: Own quality gates and sign-off for production releases.
- Metrics & Reporting: Define QA KPIs, track defect trends, test coverage, and provide insights to stakeholders on software quality.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify quality risks and drive timely mitigation plans.
- Process Optimisation: Establish and enforce best practices in testing, CI/CD integration, and quality gates.
- Tooling & Infrastructure: Evaluate and implement modern QA tools, frameworks, and test data management solutions.
- Wider Contribution: Engage with other duties as required, including supporting the customer facing Support Team, contributing to technical documentation, and engaging with clients and partners as needed to support testing activities.
