Job Description
- Implement and model analytical output ports for our data products, ensuring they are discoverable and consumable across domains
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Dagster as the primary orchestration framework, progressively modernising existing ETL workflows
- Build and manage data transformation layers using dbt, ensuring well-tested, documented, and version-controlled models
- Ensure proper operation and evolution of data models and resulting data sets, maintaining them as the source of truth for shipment data
- Architect and optimise Snowflake data warehouse structures including schemas, tables, views, and materialisation strategies
- Provision and manage AWS infrastructure components supporting the data platform (S3, Lambda, IAM, EC2, etc.)
- Build and operate data-centric infrastructure in collaboration with DevOps specialists
- Integrate data from a variety of source systems including logistics and supply chain platforms (e.g. TMS, WMS, ERP) as well as Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
- Provide an analytics and data quality focused perspective to existing shipping data products
- Evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance the data platform landscape
- Work alongside the existing BI development team to understand current ETL processes and data models, ensuring continuity during platform modernisation
- Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting across pipeline stages
- Collaborate with reporting analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver appropriate models
- Maintain CI/CD workflows for data pipeline code and infrastructure-as-code deployments, complementing existing Jenkins-based automation where appropriate
- Contribute to data governance practices including cataloguing, lineage tracking, and documentation
- Support and troubleshoot production data issues, performing root cause analysis and remediation
What we would like you to bring
- 2–5 years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar role.
- Strong experience with Snowflake, SQL, Python, dbt, and AWS.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
- Strong knowledge of data modelling and data warehouse design.
- Experience developing and supporting data products for analytics and reporting.
- Expertise in Snowflake architecture, performance optimization, and RBAC.
- Experience integrating data from WMS, ERP, TMS, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar systems.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, data quality, and monitoring frameworks.
- Logistics, Supply Chain, or Blue Yonder WMS experience is preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
