Key Responsibilitiesas Data Protection Engineer- Veeam:

As aData Protection Design Team member must be an SME – Veeamand other backup solutions such hasRubrik, Commvault.

Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure data hosting solutions across Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
-
Architect and deploy modular cloud-based systems with a focus on data protection, availability, and compliance.
-
Lead initiatives for backup and disaster recovery using tools like Veeam and Azure Backup.
-
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Ansible, PowerShell, Python, and Azure CLI.
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Azure DevOps pipelines for continuous deployment and infrastructure as code (IaC).
-
Ensure adherence to Azure security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and regulatory compliance.
-
Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance performance and reliability of cloud infrastructure and data protection systems.
-
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.

Develop andmaintaincloud solutionsin accordance withbest practices.
-
Monitor and troubleshoot data protection environments to ensure high availability and reliability.

Hands on exposure to develop Dashboard for monitoring and observability.

Good tohave whohasexposureatproduction level understanding on microservices (AKS).

As a DP engineer must have understanding onNetworking (IP, subnet, static routes,firewallrules, TCP/UDP protocols. Azure - VM's, RGs, NSGs, Storage Account, SMB Files, Storage Containers

Virtualization (Compute & Storage) -Vmware, Hyper-V, VSAN, Azure local, SAN, snapshot, how storage is presented to a virtualized environment (ieiSCSI / NFS). Microsoft - Firewall, Active Directory login/authentication difference between local login or AD login, DNS, DHCP,Ansible - How to provision Azure VM's Storage Accounts, File Shares through Ansiblepipeline.

Have exposure to PCN/DMZ managementand Cyber Resilience.
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
-
A minimum of7–10 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, with a strong focus on data protection and hosting.

Over7+ years of experience in data protection/backup for both on-premises and azure environments.
-
At least7years ofexpertisein Data Protection Engineering and management across on-premises and azure environments.
-
Provenexpertisein Microsoft Azure, including virtual networks, storage, compute, and security.
-
Strong experience with Veeam, Azure Backup, and cloud-native backup strategies.
-
Proficiencyin scripting and automation using Ansible, PowerShell, Python, and Azure CLI.
-
Solid understanding of Azure DevOps for CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
-
Demonstrated ability to design and implement secure cloud architectures aligned with compliance standards (e.g., ISO, GDPR, HIPAA).
-
Well-versed in on-premises storage systems from vendors like NetApp, Dell-EMC, and others.
-
Relevant certifications(e.g.,Veeam Certified Engineer,Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, NetApp Certified, Azure DevOps, Ansible).

Experience with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies.
-
Exposure to data classification, retention policies, and governance frameworks.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
