Senior Quality Analyst (Data Ingestion) – Data Validation, SQL & Python Automation

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, and Developers to understand data ingestion flows, business rules, and validation requirements for legacy and modernized components.
• Create and maintain test strategy, test scenarios, and test cases for ingestion jobs, validations, and downstream consumption.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing for data ingestion pipelines, including negative and boundary scenarios.
• Perform source-to-target validation, data transformation checks, reconciliation, and data integrity validation between input files and backend database tables.
• Write and optimize advanced SQL (complex joins, subqueries, CTEs, aggregations) to validate ingested data, perform reconciliations, and support defect root-cause analysis.
• Create and manage test data in XML and JSON formats (including schema validation using XSD/JSON schema where applicable).
• Contribute to Python-based automation by building/maintaining automated validation suites (framework-based) for file parsing, data checks, database comparisons, execution, and reporting.

• Analyze large datasets to identify data quality issues, ingestion defects, and mismatches between input files and persisted data.
• Drive automation adoption by identifying high-value manual validations and collaborating with the automation team to improve coverage, stability, and execution time.
• Ensure data quality across ingestion stages (staging, intermediate, target) and confirm business-rule compliance before release.
• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (refinement, planning, stand-ups, reviews) and maintain transparent test status, risks, and defects.
• Integrate automated suites with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) and support scheduled/triggered runs with actionable reports.

• 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance / Testing, with significant exposure to data-intensive, backend, ETL/data ingestion, or data warehouse projects
• Proven hands-on experience with SQL-driven data validation and Python automation (scripting + working within a framework)
• Experience supporting legacy systems and working with complex data models, multiple source systems, and high-volume data is a strong plus
• Exposure to AI/ML testing concepts (data validation, model behavior, AI feature testing).

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years of IT-relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
OR
5+ years of IT-relevant work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.
