Job Description
What You’ll Do:
- Deploy various virtualization platforms for testing and development purposes. (e.g., VMWare, OpenStack, OpenShift, Kubernetes)
- Manage Container virtualization platform.
- Adhere configuration standards and best practices to create a consistent environment.
- Oversee virtualization platforms to ensure optimal performance and high availability of servers and infrastructure resources.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and reliability metrics; proactively address performance bottlenecks and scalability needs.
- Support & Manage Windows Active Directory infrastructure.
- Champion an “everything-as-code” philosophy to ensure infrastructure is consistently deployed, configured, and managed in a structured and repeatable way.
- Ensure infrastructure solutions align with the company’s overall IT strategy and business requirements.
- Own observability solutions, monitoring platforms, logging tools, and alerting systems.
- Maintain VMware vCenters, ESXi servers, Linux-based operating systems (Ubuntu, Red Hat ) and UNIX/RISC systems (Solaris, SPARC, AIX, HP-UX).
- Evaluate and approve patches for scheduled maintenance rollouts.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of end-to-end application flows and dependencies.
- Occasionally provide support for virtual machines used by developers, ensuring they run on Rubrik-supported distributions.
- Follow Change Advisory Board (CAB) procedures to maintain compliance and consistency.
Experience You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps methodologies and infrastructure architecture.
- Experience in any of the virtualization platforms (VMware, OpenShift, Openstack) proficiency in multiple virtualizations is a plus.
- Good understanding and working knowledge in container platforms(e.g., Docker, LXD, K3s).
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
- Extensive experience in Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
- Experience in building, deploying and managing Observability platforms. (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Alert Manager)
- Strong working knowledge with Linux based operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu), RISC platform is a significant plus (Solaris, AIX, HP-UX).
- Strong enterprise data center operations and infrastructure management experience.
- Possess excellent understanding in networking technologies, protocols, and best practices for troubleshooting.
