Job Description
You are a Cloud Engineer -
-
Collaborate with Application Development, FinOps, Cloud, Governance, and Security teams to help formulate and implement a comprehensive cloud strategy. This includes developing frameworks, internal standards, governing policies, and procedures that align with organizational goals.

Support FinOps initiatives by working closely with finance teams to optimize cloud spending, providing insights into cost management, and helping to forecast future cloud expenditures.

Guide application teams by offering technical leadership in cloud architecture, ensuring that solutions are design for optimal deployment, security, performance, and high availability.

Develop and maintain a balanced cloud governance framework based on industry standards, ensuring compliance with security protocols and other regulatory requirements.

Evaluate and implement proof-of-concepts for emerging cloud services and technologies, ensuring that the organization stays ahead of industry trends.
-
Drive cloud adoption and innovation by exploring new cloud services, finding opportunities to demonstrate them for business growth, and ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.

Collaborate with teams on new and existing business/technology solutions, ensuring they align with established standards and contribute to long-term cloud strategy.

Perform regular cloud cost reviews and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Mentor and support teams in understanding cloud technologies, standard methodologies, and operational processes.

Stay informed of industry-wide trends and their potential impact or application to the business, ensuring the organization’s cloud strategy remains forward-looking and innovative.

Complete other responsibilities as assigned and ensure compliance with all company policies and standards.

What we’ll need…(Required)

At least 4-6 years in Cloud Engineering

Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally

Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail

Strong understanding of cloud computing capabilities and limitations, business drivers, virtualization technologies,
-
Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service and Software as a Service Cloud delivery models
-
A strong ability to learn new technologies

Thorough understanding of system and infrastructure management in the Cloud environment (Linux/Windows servers, firewalls, load balancers, hypervisors, storage, monitoring, security etc.)

Experience with cloud infrastructure and services (GCP, AWS, etc.)
-
Experience with GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and Kubernetes Engine. Hands-on experience with AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda is acceptable and can be considered as a good foundation for the required GCP expertise

Proficiency in configuring and handling virtual networks, including VPC, subnets, and firewall rules.
