Storage Operations Engineer

To be successful as a Storage Operations Engineer you should have experience with:

• Good years of experience in Storage Environments, specifically SAN and NAS.
• Hands-on experience with SAN and NAS Technologies such as Pure, PAMX, Unity, Brocade, Cisco, Isilon, and NetApp Storage.
• Experience with provisioning, decommissioning, migrations, commissioning, and troubleshooting SAN and NAS environments.
• Experience with zoning on Brocade and Cisco Directors/switches and troubleshooting.
• Strong Issue identification, analysis, and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies as per business requirements.
• Ability to coordinate with different storage vendors to resolve issues.
• Experience handling Major Incident calls and working until Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is known and issues are fixed.
• Experience with ticketing tools like ServiceFirst.
• Ability to monitor log files and manage performance issues for critical systems.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to efficiently manage shift activities and handle Major Incidents.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Working exposure in 24x7 Storage Operations of large environments.
• Bachelor’s degree is a must.
• Understanding and experience working on Windows and UNIX OS platforms.
• Ability to work effectively across time zones and geography.
• Experience with backup technology (TSM, Rubrik, Data Domain & ECS) and knowledge of Virtualization & Cloud technologies is a plus.
