What you’ll own
An AWS Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and managing applications and infrastructure within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment within the Worldpay Accounts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, Deploy & Support: Create scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS and provide support in a fast paced 24x7 environment.
- Migration: Move complex, multi-tier applications to AWS.
- Service Selection: Choose appropriate AWS services based on application requirements.
- Cost Management: Implement strategies to control costs.
- Maintenance: Improve and maintain existing cloud infrastructure.
- Collaboration: Work with developers to optimize applications for the cloud.
- Automation: Automate deployment and configuration processes.
- Compliance: Ensure cloud architecture meets compliance standards.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Documentation: Document technical specifications, procedures and policies for all action and events performed within position space.
Key Activities:
- Architectural Design: Drafting and reviewing architectural designs to ensure they meet business requirements.
- Code Development: Writing and reviewing code for cloud infrastructure and automation scripts.
- Meetings: Participating in meetings with stakeholders to discuss project requirements and progress.
- Documentation: Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for cloud architectures and processes.
- Training: Conducting training sessions for team members on cloud technologies and best practices.
This role is dynamic and requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and collaboration skills.
What you bring
- Cloud Services: Deep understanding of AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, RT53, VCP networks)
- Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Experience: Several years of experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on AWS but include basic understand of infrastructure services.
- Automation: Proficiency in cloud architecture, automation tools (e.g, Ansible, Chef, terraform) and understanding or basic security practices.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a global team environment.
Added bonus if you have:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields. Positional role experience accepted for formal education.
- Certifications: AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are often preferred.
