Area(s) of responsibility

• Network Management: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network devices including Palo Alto Firewalls, Aruba SD-WAN, Cisco Routers, and Cisco Switches. Ensure the network infrastructure is robust, secure, and scalable.
• Security: Implement and manage security policies and procedures to protect the network from internal and external threats. Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
• Monitoring and Performance: Continuously monitor network performance using various tools and techniques. Identify and resolve network issues to maintain high availability and reliability.
• Patch Management: Perform annual patching of switches and SD-WAN routers, and semi-annual patching of firewalls. Apply patches immediately upon discovering critical security vulnerabilities, approximately twice per year.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures. Ensure all network diagrams and records are up-to-date.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams to support network-related projects and initiatives. Provide technical guidance and support to junior network engineers.
• Incident Management: Respond to and resolve network incidents and outages promptly. Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
• Problem Escalation: Drive overnight issues through to resolution independently, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Level 1 Network Work: Handle calls to manufacturers, carriers, and service providers for support and issue resolution.
